At Mercedes-Benz of Reading

Mercedes-Benz of Reading is inviting motorists to literally clean up their automotive act with a host of efficiency-focused models.

The Richfield Avenue retailer recently welcomed the fuel economy-enhancing and emissions-lowering BlueEFFICIENCY A 160 CDI and is set to debut BlueEFFICIENCY versions of the C-Class and B-Class.

All the models utilise cutting-edge technology to be as efficient as possible and to ultimately lower owners’ running costs.

For example, the A 160 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY’s emissions of just 119g/km mean the diesel-powered hatchback is eligible for a 12-month annual road fund licence at a cost of only £35. Despite being priced exactly the same as the previous A 160 CDI, the latest BlueEFFICIENCY-equipped model also returns a nine per cent improvement on the combined fuel economy cycle thanks in part to revised aerodynamics, lowered suspension and weight saving measures.

B-Class customers can look forward to BlueEFFICIENCY B 150 and B 170 models in the spring, whilst Mercedes-Benz of Reading is gearing up to showcase the
C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY just in time for Christmas. And with improvements of up to 11 per cent in fuel economy and CO2 reductions of up to 18g/km compared to its non-BlueEFFICIENCY predecessor, the equally-powerful 156hp C-Class is certain to put a smile on both private and corporate customers’ faces.

“BlueEFFICIENCY models represent the massive investment that Mercedes-Benz is making on providing our customers with cars that are both environmentally-compatible and more affordable than ever to run,” said Richard Carde, Mercedes-Benz of Reading’s Sales Manager.

“The manual SE version of the C 180 BlueEFFICIENCY has an even lower on-the-road price than the outgoing model because its improved emissions of 149g/km reduce its road fund licence costs, while its company car tax band is also dropped from 21 per cent to 17 per cent.”

Richard added: “Nothing has been overlooked on making these cars as efficient as possible, the C-Class model comes with power steering that is only activated when needed and also has a shift point indicator to help drivers make the most of the car’s fuel-saving potential.”
