 | The iconic smart car is certainly one motoring brand that is moving in the right direction in the current financial climate as far as Berkshire motorists are concerned.
Interest in the models has escalated to such an extent among drivers keen to reduce their motoring costs that the county’s official retailer has increased its representation to three sites.
In addition to smart of Reading, the Richfield Avenue retailer’s sister Mercedes-Benz sites in Ascot and Slough now have new and Approved Used smart vehicles on display.
David Sims, General Manager, Sales, said that the arrival of the new diesel and micro hybrid driver smart models, combined with the offering of some very attractive and affordable Personal Contract Plan (PCP) and corporate campaigns, had prompted a surge of enquiries.
“smart is really bucking the trend and demand for the cars means it makes sense to have a presence at each of our sites – not only to encourage sales but to make viewing and test driving the smart range much more convenient for potential buyers,” he said.
“Cost-conscious motorists are being attracted by the economy and low running costs of the latest smarts as well as their renowned environmental credentials,” he said. “The cars are tax efficient for companies too, enabling 100 per cent write-down against profit in the first year and providing them with a vehicle that they can livery to promote their business.” |
