The CLK-Class Cabriolet’s roll-over bars are automatically activated by an electronic system when it detects dangerous tilting movements of the vehicle or critical situations occurring during a collision. As a result, the roll-over bars are pre-emptively activated in almost all types of collision – and are at their full height in just 0.3 seconds.
There are two rollover modules integrated into the back of the rear seats. Although separate, both the rollover modules and the rear head restraints are deployed in an accident. In conjunction with the strong A-pillars, the roll-over bars provide enhanced safety for front and rear passengers in the event of a roll-over. |
