Think about the future today

Technology for the environment
The new Mercedes Benz C-Class is the first car in its market segment to be awarded the internationally accredited environmental certificate (ISO-Norm 14062), following on from the world’s first award of this certificate to the S-Class Saloon. In doing so the certifying body, the TÜV Süd Management Service GmbH, confirmed the environmentally-friendly development of the new C-Class. Important advances were made in the areas of fuel consumption, exhaust gas emissions and material selection, all of which are crucial throughout the lifespan of the car.

Sometimes, less is more: compared to the previous model series from 2000, the modern technology of the new C Class allows for nitrogen oxide and hydrocarbon emissions to be reduced by twenty and twelve percent respectively. Mercedes-Benz remains the only automotive manufacturer to have been awarded this coveted environmental certificate.
