 | | Anti-lock braking (ABS), pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, increases the safety levels by applying brakes in a series of rapid ‘stutters’. Crucially, this means you have increased control by maintaining steering capability.
Another of our innovations, Brake Assist (BAS), reduces stopping distances in emergency situations. Both ABS and BAS ensure maximum safety in critical driving conditions, and both are fitted as standard in the S-Class.
New features for the new model include adaptive brake (see link above) and electric parking brake.
The new electric parking brake replaces the manual parking brake pedal, freeing up space in the driver’s footwell. You will also appreciate the fact that only minimal effort is required to operate its push button controls. |
