Thoroughbred performers on four wheels and four legs will be on show when a brand new international horse trials is held in Norfolk this May.
The Houghton International takes place in the beautiful grounds of Houghton Hall near King’s Lynn from 24th – 27th May and as an Associate Sponsor, Robinsons Mercedes-Benz will be displaying some horsepower of its own in the shape of the latest Mercedes-Benz models.
With its 800 acres of parkland and magnificent backdrop, it’s easy to see why the Board of British Eventing chose Houghton Hall to host this new competition ahead of three other locations. Indeed, the Norfolk venue was described as “a truly magnificent setting” by none other than Captain Mark Phillips, the Olympic Gold Medallist and father of the World and European Champion Zara Phillips.
The Houghton International promises to be an action-packed and entertaining three days. In addition to great equestrian action including fast and furious Cross Country riding, Show Jumping, elegant Dressage, and Pony Club displays, there will be other country pursuits such as falconry displays, gun dog trials and terrier racing.
There will also be a shopping village adjacent to the main arena, plus a Food Court and Bar to make sure nobody goes hungry.
Alec Lochore, director of Houghton International, said that there was already huge interest in the event for which he was delighted to have secured the support of Robinsons Mercedes-Benz, alongside fellow sponsors such as Christies.
“We are delighted to welcome such a prestigious brand from the outset of this exciting new project,” he added.
“The quality, precision and style associated with Mercedes-Benz will complement the stunning surroundings of Houghton Hall and the magnificent equine athletes who will compete here.”
