The acclaimed Mercedes-Benz BlueEFFICIENCY range is catering to the needs of DBC Foodservice, one of the leading players in the UK’s foodservice market.
Mercedes-Benz North Yorkshire’s Corporate Sales team has supplied 35 C 180 KOMPRESSOR BlueEFFICIENCY Saloon and Estate models for senior management at the company’s 12 strategic locations nationwide.
Mercedes-Benz has become one of only two marques represented on the 110-vehicle fleet operated by DBC, which supplies caterers with an extensive, multi-temperature product range that includes ambient grocery, chilled and frozen foods and fresh fruit.
The C-Class BlueEFFICIENCY delivers class-leading economy and ultra-low emissions without any compromise in the drive itself.
Returning an 11 per cent improvement on its predecessor, the Saloon returns a frugal 44 .8mpg (combined) and generates significant tax savings too.
Lower emissions from 167g/km to 149g/km mean that the car now qualifies for the 17% CO2 tax band.
Gill Tomlinson, DBC’s National Fleet Manager, said that the acquisition of Mercedes-Benz vehicles had been a fundamental part of the company’s drive to enhance its image on several fronts.
She was also impressed with the service provided by Mercedes-Benz North Yorkshire’s Corporate Sales Manager Nick Lawn and his team.
“Like many organisations, we are constantly looking at ways of reducing our carbon footprint and were attracted by the low emissions of the C-Class as well as its fuel economy,” she said. “Being Mercedes-Benz, the cars also improve the package that we are able to offer people to come and work for us, whilst ensuring that their personal tax liability is kept at a very respectable level.” Gill continued: “Mercedes-Benz North Yorkshire worked tremendously hard in putting this deal together – gaining our board’s approval, registering and delivering the cars in less than four weeks. What’s more, they have also been extremely pro-active in handing over the vehicles – often undertaking a one-to-one introduction to all of the C-Class’ features with employees.”
The C 220 CDI is the latest C-Class to be given the BlueEFFICIENCY treatment and expands Mercedes-Benz’s line-up of vehicles that offer this cutting-edge technology. BlueEFFICIENCY is standard on the majority of the new E-Class range and is also available on selected A-Class and B-Class models too. |
