 | | The GL-Class range comprises of three very distinct torque-filled units. The diesel option includes the GL 320 CDI, powered by a strong V6 diesel engine featuring common-rail technology and developing 224 hp (165 kW). While the new 306 hp (225 kW), V8 based GL 420 CDI ensures sporty performance but with appealing fuel consumption levels. Both diesel engines feature twin turbo-chargers with variable nozzles and are also fitted with a diesel particulate filter.
Delivering an impressive 388 hp (285 kW), the petrol based GL 500 is one of the most powerful yet economical engines in its class. The advanced lightweight design uses special shifting camshafts to optimise the engine’s gas cycle. What do you get out of it? Improved smoothness and higher torque, particularly in the intermediate engine speed range.
All GL-Class engines comply with EU4 emission standards.
