Over 400 customers of Mercedes-Benz of Derby descended on the retailer’s St. Christophers Way site to take part in its exclusive ‘Dream it, Drive it’ event.
Held over the weekend of 13-14th September, the unprecedented event offered visitors the chance to test drive their dream Mercedes-Benz and enjoy some great entertainment.
Vehicles spanning the complete spectrum of the Mercedes-Benz range, including the latest A-Class and B-Class, were available to drive and motorists were able to sample their chosen models on a variety of pre-determined test routes which had been specially compiled by Mercedes-Benz of Derby. Offering a choice of A-road, urban and motorway conditions, or a combination of all three, the detailed routes allowed customers to experience the cars in the environment that they personally drive the most.
When they weren’t test driving their dream Mercedes-Benz customers were able to take part in a number of activities at the retailer’s site. The spacious showroom provided the ideal setting for a huge Scalextric along with dedicated Wii fit and artificial putting green areas, whilst a nutritionist and a beautician from a local spa were also on hand to pamper visitors.
Golfing demonstrations were undertaken by the East Midlands Golf Academy and car enthusiasts searching for the ultimate in performance and luxury enjoyed the rare opportunity to peruse the £333,000 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and the phenomenal Maybach limousine. Chris Carr, General Manager, was delighted with the response to the ‘Dream it, Drive it’ weekend.
“It was fantastic that so many customers of all ages joined us and it was great to see everyone having a good time, especially considering the recent weather and people’s worries about the economy.”
Chris added: “Best of all though, we had a record number of test drives taken and there was an overwhelming positive reaction by all who took to the roads in their dream Mercedes-Benz. Consequently, we sold an excellent amount of cars and it was definitely our best event yet.”
