Mercedes-Benz and the Scrappage Scheme

From A-Class to S-Class, every Mercedes-Benz car will participate in the new UK Scrappage Scheme outlined by Chancellor Alistair Darling in the 2009 Budget. Vehicles from the smart range will also be available under the scheme, including the impressive new smart fortwo cdi – the world’s cleanest production cabrio, emitting just 88 g/km.

Under the new scheme starting on 18th May, the Government and Mercedes-Benz will jointly fund a discount off the purchase price of a new car or van for customers who trade in a vehicle that is at least ten years old. All customers taking advantage of the scheme will benefit from the full £2,000 saving.

As an environmentally responsible manufacturer, Mercedes-Benz welcomes the Government’s objective to replace older, more polluting vehicles with new, cleaner cars. We have a new selection of low-emission BlueEFFICIENCY models available this year, all of which customers will be able to purchase under the scheme along with selected smart models.

In addition to participating in the Scrappage Scheme, Mercedes-Benz has a wealth of attractive offers available – so customers looking to purchase a new car could secure a new vehicle with value contribution greater than the £2,000 Scrappage Scheme allowance.

Further details of our scheme and offers will be announced soon, once the scheme process and eligibility criteria have been confirmed. In the meantime, use the links to the left and discover the offers currently available across our range.
