Environment

Leading the way
Environment
In 2005, the S-Class became the first car in the world to receive an Environmental Certificate from the TÜV Institute in Germany. Since then, each new version of the S-Class has won this coveted award – testament to Mercedes-Benz ongoing commitment to environmental performance.

In awarding this prestigious certificate, the TÜV assesses a vehicle’s environmental impact throughout its lifecycle – from production through to disposal. They take into account a range of factors, from fuel consumption and exhaust emissions to the use of eco-friendly materials.

The latest S-Class excelled on all counts, with the new S 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY leading the way. As with all our BlueEFFICIENCY vehicles, it features energy-saving measures such as low rolling resistance tyres and enhanced aerodynamics to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. As a result, the S 350 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY emits just 199 g/km of CO2, with Benefit in Kind of 30%.
