| At Mercedes-Benz we’re constantly devising new ways to reduce the environmental impact of our vehicles across their whole life cycle.
One of our latest initiatives is BlueEFFICIENCY, a programme of innovative measures engineered into our vehicles to reduce emissions and improve fuel economy. We’re steadily rolling it out across the Mercedes-Benz range and it features on all new E-Class Saloons apart from the most powerful V8 model.
BlueEFFICIENCY initiatives range from advanced engine management systems to smaller, more aerodynamic exterior mirrors. Essentially, we take all measures possible to enhance efficiency and performance - for example, the new E-Class Saloon has new tyres that produce 17% less rolling resistance than their predecessors.
This attention-to-detail has resulted in the new E-Class Saloon having a drag coefficient from just 0.26 Cd – a class-leading figure for a luxury saloon.
In addition, all new E-Class models are EU5 compliant, with CO2 emission levels ranging from 139 – 256 g/km. |
